Guardians of the Galaxy.

"American Outlaw Peter Quill also known as the Star-Lord steals a mysterious orb that is kind of a big deal to everyone in the film. The orb lands the Star-Lord in prison along with Groot, Rocket, Drax and Gamora, they must break out of the prison to ensure the orb doesn't end up in the hands of Ronan who is doing everything he can to get the orb and destroy the galaxy...It is up to them to be the Guardians of the Galaxy."

Before seeing this film I expected a lot from it mainly because of the publicity it was receiving and how much fans of the comics were hyping about it, but I was given a lot more than what I was expecting. For instance the cast/characters were kind of an odd mixture you have to admit but they worked together so well...Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, I do not think anyone else could have done a better job than how he played it and well lets just say for the ladies it was a treat. Groot was played by Vin Diesel which when you think about it is kind of an odd combination. A massive man playing a tree? You would have expected him to have played the role of Drax but he was played by Dave Bautista who is if I am right a professional wrestler. But either way Vin Diesel stood up to the role and gave us everything we wanted for the character; he was stupid, comical, courageous and most of all loving. For me Rocket was everything i expected down to a tee, he might be small and fluffy but he is not to be messed with. We learn that he doesn't like to be called 'roadent' as he gets very defensive about this whilst he is drunk, within the group he is the brains. Well Gamora I don't really know what to say about her...she is just kind of there to look pretty, no i'm only playing she is badass and whitty at first she wants the orb for herself...thats all i'm saying for that, I do not want to be ruining it for those who haven't seen it yet. One thing that shocked me when i was  watching the film was this guy...

I did not expect to see Michael Rooker in this movie. We all know him as Merle in 'The Walking Dead' So when I saw him I fan-girled for a second, he played Yondu in this movie who is a two-faced character and I didn't like him one bit. But Michael Rooker played him exceptionally well I will give him that.

The film pretty much had every feeling going throughout the whole film. It had a whole lot of emotion, think I cried at least four times as parts of the story are very touching. Obviously with it being a marvel movie it contained quite a lot of humour, for me if it didn't have the comedy aspect towards it the film would've lost a lot of its magic. And of course the film was packed to the rim with action, mainly tension and suspense which had us all in our seats wanting to scream at the cinema screen but nevertheless it held every aspect possible.
Although there were parts that made me think 'what on earth is going on?!' Most things just happened so fast I got left behind and had to catch up when the next thing was going on but this did not stop me from enjoying the film. The end of the film was not the best I must admit but you get what you are given and you take it, at least it told us that there will be a second Guardians of the Galaxy right?

I think I should put my film studies A-level to use here and actually write about the cinematography of the film because well if you know about cinematography you would agree that the cinematography within this film was beyond mind-blowing! I was stunned by the camera angles but obviously it is their job to know what they are doing with the camera work I just don't think i have ever seen a film that used it to such high standards.
ANYWAY. I would recommend this film to literally everyone because for me it will be hard to top this year. Everything about this film is a yes. I would say the audience range for this is open to everyone because it has characters kids would love like Groot and Rocket, the humour that the older generation understand more than the kids would but overall the whole film is suitable for everyone. Basically what I am trying to say is that this is the best. film. ever!!

So step aside Scooby Doo and Co. There is a new gang in town.

R.I.P. Robin Williams.

So I think it is safe to say that my first post should be about the amazing and talented actor

we know as 'Robin Williams.' He was found dead in his California home on Monday.
Police don't really
know the cause of his death but it is suspected to relate to his
severe depression that
he had recently been suffering with.

I know for me this has certainly come as a shock because he seemed like he lived such a happy life but like they say...
we don't know what goes on behind closed doors. Robin Williams lived such a successful life but for him it may not have been all it lived up to be.
When I was growing up this wonderful man was someone who i grew up watching near enough everyday! He starred in films that we still watch today such as
Flubber, Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, the classic Jumanji and Night at the Museum.

Although to many of us if he hadn't have died nobody would be making such a fuss about him now, which is sad really
because this man deserves more credit than he received! especially for the films he starred in, if he hadn't have been in them films...
well they just wouldn't have been the classics we love today. I don't think any of us can imagine what he must have been going through
to have taken his own life and its sad that he didn't turn to anyone for help but he did a very good job at disguising his depression.
We see him on social networking websites such as 'Instagram' & 'Twitter' and he seemed genuinely happy,
so I speak for a lot of us when I say we didn't see this coming and we are all heartbroken.

So I say R.I.P Robin Williams (July 21, 1951-August 11 2014)
He lived a long and successful life and had a loving family and an amazing fan base.
His legend will live on through his films and appearances.
So I shall leave this post on a happy note with one of Robin Williams greatest performances...
well I know it was for me anyway.

(Sorry about the not so HD but this was one of my favourites.)
